How do I prepare for my photo shoot?

Levygraphie Photographe

As professional photographers in Luxembourg, we deal every day with motivated people who want to prepare their photo session as well as possible.
In addition to the usual things like a hairdresser appointment and choosing clothes, there are a number of tips on how to best prepare for your photo shoot.

The most important thing: come to the studio relaxed and in a good mood. The appointment should make you happy. But also come on time to avoid unnecessary stress. This is especially important if there are children involved. Avoid giving children too many instructions in advance. They too must look forward to the meeting and come to the studio with motivation. Bring your newborn to the photo shooting fed and well-rested, so that everything goes as smoothly as possible. Of course, you can take short breaks during the shooting, we can take our time!

A change of clothes is always good, especially with young children: a stain of milk or chocolate is quickly made. If you want to show skin, don’t wear clothes that are too tight beforehand, as rubber bands often create unsightly pressure points.

It’s often the little things that get in the way of photos. For example, your mobile phone in your pocket will be seen in the photo. Or if your children have temporary tattoos or painted fingers. A lot can be done in digital editing, but it’s often faster and more effective with soap and water.

If you have a bruise or any other injury, let the photographer know before the photoshooting. He seeks to photograph you in such a way that these things don’t stand out and will note it down for later digital editing.

Just as you take care of your hands, also take care of your feet before you come to the photo shoot. Often we take a series of photos without shoes.
Also clean your glasses before coming to the photo studio.

A very important thing at the end: not to eat during the session. No chewing gum, no candy. Children who receive sweets as a reward during the shoot not only have their mouths full of them, but they also lose motivation to continue. Sugar shock usually does not improve it. It’s even more fun to give the children a reward at the end, so they can also operate our candy machine!
